Questions, answered

Everything you need to know before collection.

Clear information about services, load sizes, accepted items, pricing guidance and our 20-mile Northamptonshire service area.

How much waste can Womblers collect?

We collect between 1 and 14 cubic yards per booking. One cubic yard suits a smaller clear-out, while 14 cubic yards is approximately equivalent to two large builder’s skips. If you are unsure, send us a list or photos and we can guide you.

What can Womblers not take?

We cannot accept hazardous materials, asbestos, clinical waste, liquids, gas bottles or anything unsafe to handle. Some restricted items may need a specialist route. Tell us what you have before booking so we can confirm acceptance and suggest the right alternative if needed.

Can you take fridges and freezers?

Yes, we can remove fridges and freezers as individual items when they are safely accessible. They are charged because specialist de-gassing is required: domestic collections are from £100 and commercial collections are from £150. Please tell us about the appliance and its location when you enquire.

How quickly can you collect?

Collection availability depends on your postcode, service and the size of the job. We offer scheduled bookings across our 20-mile radius around NN7 2NU and will confirm the next suitable slot when you contact us. For urgent requirements, include that detail in your enquiry.

Are Womblers licensed and insured?

Yes. Womblers is a licensed and insured waste collection and recycling company. We handle household, landlord and small-business collections professionally and take responsibility for sorting and directing material through responsible routes wherever possible.

Do I need a skip permit or skip outside my home?

No skip is required for a Womblers collection. We bring the vehicle, load the waste ourselves and take it away, so there is no skip to place on the road and no permit process for you to manage. Access must still be safe and legal.

Do you offer a veteran discount?

Yes. Veterans and their families receive 15% off when they book with Womblers. We are an Armed Forces Covenant supporter. Mention your service connection when you enquire so the discount can be applied to the booking details.

Where does collected material go?

We separate material where practical and direct recyclable items to appropriate recycling or recovery routes. Metal, WEEE, reusable items and other materials can follow different destinations. We do not claim that every item can be recycled, but we always aim to reduce avoidable landfill.

Can landlords and businesses arrange regular collections?

Yes. Landlords and small businesses can ask about repeat or planned collections for property clear-outs, office equipment, pallets, scrap metal and bagged waste. Share your locations, frequency and typical material so we can suggest a practical service arrangement.

Do you cover my postcode?

Womblers covers a 20-mile radius around NN7 2NU, including Northamptonshire towns and villages such as Northampton, Daventry, Towcester, Weedon and Bugbrooke. Send your full postcode before booking and we will confirm whether the address is inside our current service area.

How does scrap metal pricing work?

Scrap metal value depends on the material type and weight collected. Copper, brass and aluminium are different from mixed steel or appliances, so pricing is not one flat rate. Send photos or a description and we can explain the likely collection approach before we arrive.

Do you load everything for us?

Yes. Loading is part of the service, so you do not need to carry heavy furniture, appliances or bags to the vehicle. We can collect from an accessible room, garage, garden or other location, subject to safe access and the items being accepted.

Still have a question?

Send us the postcode, what needs collecting and any access details. We will come back with a clear answer.
